Jet's story is sadly all-too-common on Hekshano. During the Rulerist occupation of Hekshanian space, all Hekshanians in-transit passing through were rounded up and returned to the home world- regardless if they grew up there or not. Jet, with no experience in the customs or social structure of Hekshano, was dumped quite uncermoniously at the airport with no contacts at all. His parents lived in another portion of space which that escaped this. Jet probably would have died on the streets had it not been for Kyotoshi. Jet (then going by his real name of "Setamo") was found huddled up in an alleyway by Kyo.
Taken in and coached on the customs of Hekshano,Jet was initially afraid of Kyotoshi. He had never met, let alone lived with an alcoholic before and did not know what to expect. Fortunately Kyotoshi was about as low key as they could come- the immigrant had lucked out. Thankfully, Jet's personality was amiable enough that he developed a fairly diverse social network after a time despite his feeble grasp on the native language. Yet, he still had no way home. With the mine fields filling the air around Hekshano's ports, Jet took it upon himself to learn to fly. Unfortunately, on Hekshano, this involves becoming a racer pilot.
As a racer, Jet was quickly hooked on Stims -stimulant drugs pilots use to give themselves an edge on the race. The Stims also increased the euphoric feeling the races brought on and Jet was soon a hopeless addict.
Once his only goal was to return home - Maybe someday he will, but at current he isn't planning on it. He is still very nervous in nature and almost immediately panics in a bad situation. He is known for the fur along the spine of his tail standing straight up when he's aggitated.
